About Us
The Desert Mountain Children's Center (DMCC) is a dedicated counseling and mental health center committed to supporting the well-being of infants, children, and youth from birth through 21 years of age. With offices in Apple Valley, Big Bear, and Yucca Valley, we provide a comprehensive range of mental health services, including individual, group, and family therapy, tailored to meet the unique needs of each child.
At DMCC, we serve both general education students and those receiving Special Education services who qualify for Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS). In collaboration with school districts and charter schools that belong to the Desert Mountain Special Education Local Plan Area (DMSELPA) or the Desert Mountain Charter SELPA (DMCS), we offer specialized support tailored to the educational and emotional needs of students.
Our expert team delivers care in a variety of settings to ensure accessibility and effectiveness, including:
- DMCC Clinic: A welcoming, therapeutic space for in-person sessions.
- School-Based Services: Supporting students directly in their learning environment.
- In-Home Support: Bringing care directly to families when needed.
- Telehealth: Secure, virtual therapy sessions for convenience and accessibility.
From mild emotional challenges to severe mental health concerns, DMCC offers a continuum of care designed to meet children where they are and help them grow. Our team empowers children by providing the tools they need to develop resilience, manage emotions, and thrive in everyday life. Referrals can be made by parents, guardians, schools, doctors, or other external sources.
At DMCC, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Together, we can build a brighter future by helping children one step at a time.
