About Us

The Desert Mountain Children’s Center (DMCC) is a counseling and mental health center dedicated to supporting the well-being of infants, children, and youth from birth through age 21. With offices located in Apple Valley, Big Bear, and Yucca Valley, we provide a wide range of mental health services designed to support each child’s emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs.

Our services include individual therapy, group counseling, and family therapy, all tailored to meet the unique needs of every child and family we serve.

At DMCC, we support both general education students and students receiving Special Education services who qualify for Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS). We work closely with school districts and charter schools that are members of the Desert Mountain Special Education Local Plan Area (DMSELPA) and the Desert Mountain Charter SELPA (DMCS). Through these partnerships, we provide specialized services that support both the educational and emotional needs of students.

DMCC offers a continuum of care, supporting children with mild emotional concerns as well as more complex mental health needs. Our goal is to help children develop resilience, healthy coping skills, and confidence so they can thrive in their daily lives.

Referrals may be made by parents, guardians, schools, doctors, or other community partners.
