CARE
Comprehensive Assessment, Research, and Evaluation
The CARE Clinic is a program based on screening and comprehensive assessment through the Desert Mountain Children's Center Screening, Assessment, Referral and Treatment (SART) Program. Referrals to the CARE Clinic are made through SART for children two through five years of age who may be developmentally delayed, have severe behaviors, and/or have extreme difficulty with social interactions.
The CARE Clinic is a 10-week intensive assessment program based on the expertise of a trained trans-disciplinary team. The team works closely with the parents and offers a comprehensive, ongoing assessment process that addresses concerns with children experiencing behavior problems in the school and/or home setting. Asked on the results of the assessments, the team recommends educational, behavioral, emotional, occupational therapy and speech and language goals for continued services.
The trans-disciplinary team includes:
- Pediatrician
- Pediatric Neuropsychologist
- Clinical Psychologist
- School Psychologist
- Speech and Language Pathologist
- Occupational Therapist
- Public Heath Nurse/Clinical Nurse
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker
- Marriage and Family Therapist
- (3) Intervention Specialists trained in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) techniques.
